Non Attended Appointments

December 4th, 2009

You may have noticed the board in the surgery with the number of non attended appointments written on it.  We also publish this information on the home page of our website.  In October this strayed above 300 for the first time in many months.  On running the report for November, it was anticipated that this would go down under the 300 mark once again.  The total for November is actually 349.

Via this post, we would like to request patients who cannot make their appointments, to contact the surgery to let us know.  It may be difficult to get through on the telephone at times but if you are reading this via our website, please consider using our cancellation form.  Any cancellation made overnight can be collected first thing in the morning and make an appointment available for someone else.

We are already receiving prescription requests through the website but would love to see appointment cancellations coming through as well and see those numbers tumbling on our ‘Non Attendance Board’.

Do you know your NHS Number?

November 3rd, 2009

In answer to the above question, the reality is that few patients know their own nhs number.  Everyone has an NHS number which is important and unique to you.  Your NHS number can be used to help identify you.  It can be found on every repeat prescription we print for you on the green side of the paper.  If you are referred through the choice and booking system, your nhs number is printed on your paperwork.  If you receive a copy of your hospital letter or the surgery writes to you, it is likely that you will find your nhs number on the letter.  Please write your number down and keep it in a safe place or if you ask the receptionist today she can let you know what is is.

The Compass House Blog is a feature we have implemented to keep our patients up to date with news, information and insights into the day to day running of the surgery.

Various staff at the practice will be involved with keeping this blog up to date. From GP’s themselves, to admin staff.

You can leave comments on any of the posts, please see the “How to Leave Comments” post here

All messages will be categorized into categories that you can see on the side of the blog, also, you can view them by date order, or use the search feature on the right to search the blog for specific words.

We do hope this proves useful to our patients and would welcome your feedback.
