Appointment Types

We deliver healthcare via a variety of appointment types. We offer routine appointment, telephone appointments via messages to your doctor, telephone appointments via the daily medial team, home visits and emergency appointments allocated by the daily medical team.

Routine Appointments

We operate a routine appointment system, allowing you to book appointments 2 weeks in advance Most appointments are for 12.5 minutes. They can be made by either telephoning the surgery, or direct with Reception.

For routine appointments you will, wherever possible, be offered an appointment with a choice of GP.

Emergency / Urgent Appointments

Our Daily Medical Team is a "triage" telephone appointment system managed at King Street from 08:00 am - 11:30 am Monday - Friday. Your details will be taken by our Medical Team Receptionist and these will be passed onto the doctor / nurse. They will call you bas as soon as possible; please be available to answer this telephone appointment; patients requiring urgent medical appointments that day will be given an emergency appointment consultation.

Cancelling Appointments

Ring us as soon as possible so that we can offer the appointment to someone else or you can complete our appointment cancellation form on line by clicking here.

Home Visits

Please phone King Street - 01803 855897 - as early as possible in the day. Home visits are for patients so unwell or immobile that they cannot physically come to the surgery. Please do not request a home visit for lack of transport; they take 30 minutes or more of a doctors time and mean less routine appointments can be offered for all. If a visit is requested the triage or on-call doctor will discuss it with you - it is often more helpful to you if you can be seen at the practice as it facilitates a better examination and certain equipment / tests are not transportable.
