Colds & Sore Throats

Everyone suffers from the common cold at some time, most of us several times a year. Some colds can be worse than others. Most last between one and two weeks.

- Doctors still have not found a cure for the common cold

- Antibiotics will not hep

- Simple home made remedies will relieve the discomfort until you are better.

- Take regular paracetamol or aspirin to relieve the aches and pains and to bring your temperature down. (Please note, this is not recommended for under 16's, see your doctor or chemist if you are worried).

- Soluble paracetamol or aspirin can be gargled before swallowing to help your sore throat.

- Ease the congestion of a blocked nose by inhaling the steam from a bowl of hot water from the kettle. Menthol or eucalyptus drops in the water make a good vapour inhalation. Always make sure there is no danger of the hot water spilling and causing a scald.
