The Waiting Room

The Waiting Room is a service via our system supplier whereby patients can use a secure log-in in order to request their repeat medications from a list rather than manually typing the names into the form on this website. It is possible to provide appointments for booking via this service and we may utilise this facility in the future for booking some annual clinics such as Flu Vaccinations.

All patients need to do to register for this service is compete and sign a consent form containing a unique email address and return it to the surgery. To download the consent form, please click here.

The Waiting Room Privacy Policy

The email address supplied by patients will be the only potentially identifiable data held within the Waiting Room database. All other data regarding the account is linked to a patient number and a username.

All communications from this service will only contain the patient number for identification purposes. However, patients who use the Contact Us tab are asked for conformation of their name and email address. This information is not stored on the server.

Patients should not include any further identifiable information within any part of their communication with the site, e.g. within the text of reasons for visits / cancellations or notes within the repeat requests / cancellations.

Patients may request details of any information that may be contained about them on the website and how it is used under the Freedom of Information Act.

In summary the details held on the website and their reasons for being included are as follows:

1. Username
The username is generated from the practice national code and the patient number at the practice. Users are advised to amend this on completion of login.

2. Email Address
This is supplied to the practice in order to register with the Waiting Room service. The website uses the email address to confirm to the patient that a request has been made. The use of this information should be covered by the consent given by the patient (see consent form for repeat prescriptions / email address).

3. Current Repeat Medication
This list is generated to allow a patient to select repeat medication from the site and to request items that are required.

4. Patient Number
This number is used by the Evolution system (supplied by our service provider). It is unique to the patient at the practice, and is used by the system as the sole identifier for requests to the practice for medication and / or appointments.
